RUSH: Exit… Stage Left

Oh yeah… A fantastically classic LP. There a very few ‘live’ albums that I like.  This happens to be one of the tops in my book.  Rush just kind of nailed it on this one.  And as a bonus, my favorite Rush song “A Passage To Bangkok” opens up track one on side two.  And of course the ever famed “Tom Sawyer” makes its mark on side four.  I have always like Rush even though I have never considered myself a true progressive rock fan.  Rush just seems to kill it with everything they do with a very distinctive sound.  Simply love this album and it was great to rediscover it again.

The album cover kicks ass as well pulling elements from several of their other album covers.  There’s Apollo just below the owl from Fly by Night next to the chick from Permanent Waves.  There’s the naked dude from Hemispheres and the 2112 star in the background.  There is also the puppet from A Farewell to Kings and the artwork from Caress of Steel and a guy from Moving Pictures moving THIS picture. I’m sure there’s more but that’s what I’ve got of you now.

Again, a great listen and one of the greatest live albums ever released.
